CTHS Hockey's Division 1 Top 10

Division 1 Top 10 (1/26/14)
Weird week for D1 and the combination of limited games (Saturday's snow out hurt) and no clear cut number one makes for an interesting Top 10. Ridgefield takes over the #1 spot this week not because I think they're the best team at the D1 level but because this is a power ranking and right now they've won five straight since losing a tough 2-1 battle to Glastonbury punctuated by a big win over rival Darien. Hamden was ready to take over the number spot but fell in rather flat fashion to NDWH on Sunday. Prep also fell this past week to NJ #1 Delbarton and was outplayed throughout. Prep is now 2-2 over their last four. Prep landing at #2 and Hamden at #3 simply happens because I value a loss to Delbarton a lot more than a loss to a .500 NDWH team who recently lost to Prep 7-2. Greenwich stays at #4 but got a scare from D3's SWS. #'s 5-8 stay the same with Darien and Glastonbury notching easy wins over overmatched D2 clubs, NDWH splitting their week with Hendricken and Hamden and West Haven handling Milford. New Canaan moves up to #9 after tying a pesky Xavier team and beating Wilton while that same Xavier Falcon club joins the fray after a continued stretch of quality hockey. ND Fairfield drops out after an 0-2 week where they amassed only two goals scored.
