Players Who Stood Out 2/14

By: Luke Devoe

Not a ton of games in the state Thursday night but plenty of players stood out.  Here they are...

Robert Buskey, F, Sr. (Milford) Buskey notched four goals and an assist in Milford's 6-3 win over Guilford.  With the win, Milford locked down a spot in the D2 tourney.  John DePalma, G, Jr. (Milford) The junior netminder had 38 saves on 41 shots to shut down Guilford.  Austin Hansen, F, Sr. (West Haven) West Haven's "All-Everything" factored in on all of the Blue Devils' goals with two goals, three assists in their 5-2 win over Scarsdale (NY).  Luke Vendetto, F, Jr. (Cheshire) Like Hanse for West Haven, Vendetto has meant everything to the Rams this year, especially in their late push for a playoff spot.  The junior potted two goals with none bigger than the game winner with 24 seconds left in overtime to beat Watertown-Pomperaug 4-3 OT.  Luke Amero, F, So. (New Canaan) & Harry Stanton, F, Jr. (New Canaan) Both skaters potted a goal and two assists in New Canaan's 7-0 win over Fairfield Warde-Ludlowe.  The Rams have now won six in a row after a rocky start.  Chris Koenneke, G, Sr. (New Canaan) The Rams' netminder notched his second shutout of the year with a 20 save effort in the victory.  Liam McGrath, F, Jr. (BCR) McGrath popped home two goals and helped on three others in BCR's 7-1 win over RMR.  Kevin Morton, F, So. (BCR) In an attempt to not be outdone by McGrath, Morton chipped in two goals and two assists of his own in the win.
