8 Elite Predictions: Mark these on the calendar: (Last Week: 5-3)
1/19 #6 Hamden @ Notre Dame-Fairfield 6:00 @ Milford Ice Pavilion
How will the Lancers react in their first game without the legendary Marty Roos who unexpectedly stepped down Wednesday?  Steve Hetherman will move up from his assistant position to become the head coach but assistants Josh Siembida (former QU Bobcat) and J.R. Bria will coach the Lancers tonight against Hamden.  Hamden is coming off two losses to two out of state teams and is desperate to prove they are a state title contender this year.  Too much turmoil for the Lancers in this one.  Hamden 5, ND Fairfield 2

1/21 #6 Hamden @ #7 West Haven 1:00 @ Bennett Rink
West Haven got spanked by Prep on Wednesday furthering the gap between the Jesuits and the rest of the state.  With the talent that the Westies possess offensively, this one should be a little close than that 8-1 score.  I still think the Green Dragons are the more talented team. Hamden 3, West Haven 2

1/21 Cheshire @ #1 Fairfield Prep 1:00 @ Wonderland of Ice
No one plays tougher than Cheshire and have only been outscored by six goals in their four losses.  Expect them to keep this close, but with the Unker/White firepower and the steadiness Wikman is providing in net, the Jesuits should coast to victory.  Prep 4, Cheshire 1

1/21 #3 Notre Dame-West Haven @ #9 Xavier 6:00 @Wesleyan Ice Rink
The Knights had a trademark win against Glastonbury last week in a game where the Tomahawks looked like they were ready to steal the win.  Xavier is winless in their last three and still doesn't have a top quality win on their resume.  A win against NDWH would surely be one, sadly for the Falcons, I don't see that happening here.  NDWH 4, Xavier 2

1/21 #4 South Windsor @ #8 Glastonbury 6:00 @ Trinity College
In what could be the game of the week, the Bobcats take on the Tomahawks in a CCC-North rivalry game.  The Bobcats have been running over lesser competition while the Tomahawks let a third period collapse doom them against NDWH.  I see Joey Bonazelli staying hot and leading the Bobcats to a close high scoring victory. South Windsor 5, Glastonbury 4

1/21 North Haven @ Darien 6:30 @ Darien Ice Arena
In a battle of two "tough to read" teams the Indians head to Darien.  North Haven has been a roller coaster ride all year while Darien, after starting 1-3 has run off five straight and have looked impressive in doing so.  I think their hot streak will continue against the inconsistent Indians.  Darien 2, North Haven 1

1/25 #5 East Haven @ #3 Notre Dame-West Haven 4:00 @ Bennett Rink
East Haven has been beating up on Division 2 opponents but still lack that quality Division 1 victory.  NDWH has only lost twice and they were to the top two teams in the polls this week.  Something's got to give and I'm calling for the upset. East Haven 4, NDWH 3

1/25 Guilford @ Cheshire 6:30 @ Wesleyan Ice Rink
Probably the best Division 2 team so far this season against a pesky, tough to play Division 1 opponent.  Guilford took the first matchup between the two earlier this year.  This one looks fun.  I'll take Guilford for the season sweep.  Guilford 3, Cheshire 1
